How eating for health causes fat loss....

Today's Post:  Thursday, 3-10-2016

1.  For some people, simply upgrading to a health supporting diet and completely stopping health harmful foods and drinks, can cause permanent fat loss.

This post is about the many reasons why this is so!

2.  There are people who need more kinds of solutions to lose fat.  And, there are other things that can help you lose fat faster.

In fact, the right exercises do a great triple:

Using them you can lose fat faster and more reliably.

It will be dramatically easier to keep off the fat you lose in part because the right exercises allow you to eat more without being fat.

And, the combination of a health supporting diet with the right exercises prevents many diseases and slows aging enough that it’s possible and even often happens that people who do live 20 or 30 or even 40 more years of healthy, productive, and enjoyable life.

3.  If you add up the amount of calories from:

excess sugar, sucrose, (more than 5% of calories);
high fructose corn syrup; other sources of free fructose like fruit juice, agave, and fruit juice concentrate as sweeteners;
other calories in soft drinks;
wheat and soy;
and soy and corn and canola oil and hydrogenated oils in the current diet of the average adult in the United States, you get over 50% of the calories they take in!

Every single one of those ingredients cause diseases -- often more than one!

So every one of these ingredients you stop eating or drinking the better your health and future health will be.

Suppose you eat and drink these foods now and stop them ALL --
AND you add back half those calories as
health OK protein foods, health OK oils, abundant nonstarchy vegetables, and some whole fresh fruit and a bit less starchy vegetables other than potatoes and a bit less organic dried fruit and red wine.

THOSE foods have abundant health and health protective benefits.

And, over a year or two you will be about 25% lighter too.

Plus if you eat plenty of health OK protein foods and strength train effectively too, ALL of that 25% less will be fat you no longer have!

BINGO!

These upgrades alone done for health reasons will remove close to ALL your excess fat!

And, since many of those harmful foods and drinks you stopped cause cravings and have the fattening and harmful MSG added to increase how addictive they can be too you get a great benefit!

Once you get used to the new foods, the physical cravings the harmful ones caused stop.

4.  The more organic, green and nonstarchy vegetables you eat and the more thorough you are at NOT eating or drinking artificial sweeteners or factory meats that have been routinely fed antibiotics, we now know that the fattening bacteria in your gut will leave and the bacteria that help you stay lean will thrive.

AND it has been well established that the more green and nonstarchy vegetables you eat on an average day, the better your health will be.

In fact, between the carotenes and folates you get in volume, you will LOOK healthier and because of the massive slowing of aging you get, you may even look younger too.

Look thinner and healthier and younger because you actually ARE.  Nice to have!

5.  In a recent email Dr Mark Hyman added this new information too:

http://drhyman.com/blog/2016/02/18/how-to-fix-your-gut-bacteria-and-lose-weight/

“…. obesity has been linked to changes in our gut ecosystem, resulting from an intake of inflammatory omega 6s and not enough anti-inflammatory omega 3s.

Bad bugs produce toxins called lipopolysacchardies (LPS)  that trigger inflammation, insulin resistance or pre-diabetes and therefore, promote weight gain.”

“9 Ways to Optimize Gut Flora:

The best way to grow a healthy inner garden and make your gut bugs happy begins with your diet.

Here are 9 ways to build healthy gut flora starting with your next forkful:

Eat whole, unprocessed, unrefined foods. One of the best ways to maintain gut health involves cutting out the sugar and refined carbs and jacking up gut-supporting fiber.

Make 75 percent of your plate be vegetables and plant-based foods. Your gut bugs really love these high-fiber plant foods.

Eat good fats and get an oil change. The good fats we mentioned earlier (like omega 3 fats and monounsaturated fats, such as extra-virgin olive oil) will help with decreasing inflammation, giving healthy gut bugs a chance to flourish.

Supplement smartly. Beyond the numerous benefits (including reducing inflammation), studies find omega 3 fatty acids can support healthy gut flora.  You should definitely supplement with an essential fatty acids formula, if you’re not regularly eating wild-caught fatty fish.

You can find professional-quality formulas in my store.

Take a good probiotic supplement. This helps reduce gut inflammation while cultivating health and the growth of good bacteria.

Add more coconut. Studies demonstrate anti-inflammatory and weight loss benefits from adding Medium Chain Triglyceride or MCT oils. One of my favorite fats, coconut oil and coconut butter, contains these fabulous fat-burning MCTs.

[ MCT oil as a supplement costs quite a bit and tastes so bad it’s almost unusable.

BUT Whole Foods carries coconut oil which has MCT oil and other health benefits AND it tastes good too! ]

Remove inflammatory fats. Cut out bad, inflammatory omega 6 rich fats like vegetable oils. Replace these with healthier oils like extra-virgin olive oil and coconut oil.

Add fiber-rich foods. Nuts, seeds, and a special fiber called glucomannan provide prebiotics and feed our healthy bacteria. [ If you eat enough vegetables and these other foods you will NOT need to pay for extra fiber supplements! And, the probiotic supplement JarroDophilus + FOS has that prebiotic in effective amounts! ]

Add fermented foods. Sauerkraut, kimchi, tempeh, and miso contain good amounts of probiotics so your healthy gut bugs can be fruitful and multiply.”

[ Maple Hill full fat yogurt from grass fed cows also works!  Note that some canned sauerkraut has too much sodium nitrate and nitrite to be safe to eat.  And, people allergic even to fermented soy should avoid tempeh and miso. ]
