We post on preventing heart disease, cancer, mental decline, and more....

Today's Post: Thursday, 1-6-2011

We now know multiple, effective ways to prevent most of the most common and serious medical problems that cut the quality of life and how long it is.

We post every month on many of these things and on almost all of them over each year.

Many people want to know this information and many more would be delighted to find it but don’t know yet it exists.

So in a few weeks, we will be emailing our posts to people on a email list. And, at the end of each week, we will also email a one paragraph or so summary of each post from that week. That way someone who missed a topic they are interested in that week or didn't have time to read it that day, will be able to do so over the weekend.

In case you missed them, here are some of the things we now know and have been in this blog over the past year or so.

If you want to get this kind of information, at the bottom of this post is the email address to use to get on our initial email list.

1. Heart disease & heart attacks can be prevented almost to the point of never happening and then only to people well over 70 if they do.

(My maternal Grandmother died of a heart attack, my Dad survived three but got enough heart damage from them and the drugs he then took that he died at least 10 years earlier than he would have and had much worse health than he would have for about 10 years before he died. And, close to half of all deaths for the last few decades have been from some kind of heart disease. So I’ve had strong motivation to learn how to prevent heart disease!

There are several ways to prevent heart disease that are dramatically more effective than statin drugs. They do not have the side effects of statin drugs. And, unlike statin drugs, they also cut the death rate of people who do them.

They work too! With my family history and love of food, I could easily have had LDL cholesterol of over 160. But some of what I learned about heart healthy eating early on and used was accurate and for many fortunate reasons I exercised regularly. So, when I first got tested for my LDL level I was at 130. That’s still at moderately high risk of heart disease. So I made some upgrades and learned more up to date information on eating right and moved to the 96 to 106 range.

Then I added two more key upgrades and my last test was 73. Most men my age only see LDL that low on very high doses of statin drugs. Meanwhile I have no fear of the obnoxious or harmful side effects from statin drugs. I don’t take them!

There are other key indicators of heart attack risk I’ve been able to do that well with too.

(By the way, if all your doctor knows to use is statin drugs, there are two key ways to make them ten times or more LESS likely to have harmful side effects. Less than half of doctors now prescribing statins know to suggest the better known of these two. And, since the other is very new information, very likely less than one doctor in a thousand knows it yet.

Take 100 mg a day of the ubiquinol form of CoQ10 and at least 2,000 iu a day of vitamin D3. It seems statins deplete those apparently and both your heart health and overall health depend on having that NOT happen!)

2. You can dramatically cut your chances of getting most cancers and even cut your chances of dying from any cancer you do get.

Things like airport X-ray scanners, unnecessary CAT scans, and multiple kinds of chemical pollution today plus environmental hazards you have already been exposed to keep you from cutting your cancer risk to zero.

But you can cut your risk from cancer at least 90 % and maybe even more. Further, you can cut your risk of getting aggressive and invasive cancers that are likely to kill you at least in half from there!

(Both my Dad and my Grandfathers had prostate cancer. And, cancer is and has been one of the main causes of death after heart disease for several decades now. So, I’ve been strongly motivated to learn and use things that prevent cancer in general and prostate cancer in particular. And, I’ve learned enough of them and used them long enough, I may avoid prostate cancer or have it show up later and stay in its safer form long enough to not need treatment.)

3. Type 2 diabetes is becoming so common that it was recently predicted half of all adults would get it soon. But it’s close to 100 % preventable and even partially reversible.

It used to be called adult onset diabetes. But they changed its name to type 2 once school aged children began to get it.

It certainly is well worth avoiding! It can cause and has caused extra heart attacks, blindness, car accidents from sudden vision loss, nerve problems, kidney problems – including the need to have regular dial, senility, and foot amputation. Besides that, most of the drugs for it have obnoxious or harmful side effects except one that in low doses and when taken with vitamin B12 is mostly safe.

4. All kinds of mental decline including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and brain shrinkage are between 90 % and 100 % preventable.

Do the things that prevent heart disease and those that prevent type 2 diabetes and those that prevent cancer; keep learning new things that you actually use or learn more about and socialize often. Doing that set of things will do the job well. But we now know that just two supplements and one kind of action do over 80% of the job by themselves.

5. Slow aging; live longer; and have many more healthy years.

Clearly doing the things that prevent heart disease, prevent type 2 diabetes, prevent cancer, and prevent mental decline do this for you. But there are also several other things in addition that slow aging that are proven to work.

There are even some that can partially reverse aging!

If you learn and use this set of things, you may gain as many as 30 healthy years by doing so.

6. Prevent or completely lose excess fat permanently.

Because most of us love to eat and are descended from the survivors of multiple famines, this one is a bit harder. But it IS 100 % doable. We now know in some detail what works to do the job. Even doing just the easier parts can help people lose at least half their excess fat and make them dramatically healthier.

One way that has been proven to work is to get regular emails that give reasons to take these actions each week. People who get such emails do much better than people who don’t. Sign up below to get exactly that kind of email for free.

7. Now, more than ever before, you can know your health risk indicators.

Best of all if any of these indicators have gone into the danger zone or are still in the risky zone, you can find that out BEFORE you are harmed and in time to avoid the danger!

In a very real sense, living today without this knowledge is similar to trying to drive on the freeway without wrecking but while unable to see out the windows!

Do you know what these indicators are? Have you had yours tested recently or at least in the last year or two? Do you know what the danger levels are and what levels are clearly safe? Do you know how to move your indicators from the danger zone to less risky to clearly safe and do it without drugs?

There are two pieces of good news.

Many if not most health protecting actions help do you in several of these areas at the same time! So doing well in all seven of these areas is easier than you might think.

Second, since we cover this information in our posts, you can now sign up to get both our post and a weekly summary of each week’s post by email.

Simply email us and ask to be added to our initial list.

email us at: davideller7 @ yahoo.com .

Just assemble the parts and email us at that address with your name and the email address you want us to use to send you the emails.

(You can even indicate which of these seven areas you’d like us to write about most if you like; and more than one is OK.)

Important notice:

To be sure you want to be on the list, when it is ready for us to email to, you will first get an email to be sure you want to be on our list. Reply yes to that and we will include you when we do our emails.

Later, if you get a new email address or decide to stop getting our email for any reason, there will also be an opt out available in the emails.
